What can't go in a dumpster
It's printed on the bin doors for a reason: the landfill turns these away, and pulling them out costs everyone time and money.
Never — no exceptions
- Tires — landfills refuse whole tires; tire shops and the Clay Peak tire drop take them for a small fee
- Batteries — car or household; auto parts stores take vehicle batteries, usually free
- Paints & stains — liquid paint is hazardous waste (fully dried latex, lid off, is usually fine — call first)
- Lacquers & solvents — flammable and toxic
- Hazardous waste — chemicals, fuels, oils, pesticides, asbestos
Call before you toss
- Concrete, dirt, sod, or rock
- Allowed, but heavy — a bin of dirt blows past the weight limit fast. Call and we'll plan the load so you don't buy overage tonnage by accident.
- Appliances
- Fridges and freezers need refrigerant removal first. Washers, dryers, and stoves are usually fine — mention them when you book.
- Mattresses & furniture
- Fine in the bin. Break furniture down if you can — you'll fit twice as much.
- What if something prohibited ends up in the load?
- The landfill rejects it, we have to pull it, and disposal fees or fines pass through at cost. Honestly — just call first: (208) 740-3044.
